Gordon Legal is a firm whose reputation precedes it, from representing everyday clients through to undertaking national class-actions for the most complex legal matters ever pursued in Australia. The challenge was to communicate that breadth and capability without making the firm feel distant or institutional.

THE INSIGHT

When we spoke directly to Gordon Legal’s clients, one thing came through clearly: no matter the size or complexity of the case, they felt personally supported throughout it. That became the truth at the heart of the campaign.

THE IDEA

For Gordon Legal, the fight for justice is always personal.

The campaign tells the stories of real clients across vastly different matters: from a gig economy worker injured on the road, to the pursuit of a global cruise behemoth over the White Island volcanic disaster, through to representing hundreds of thousands Australians in the Robodebt class action resulting in the largest legal settlement in the nation’s history.

We showed that while the scale of the cases may vary drastically, Gordon Legal’s commitment to the people behind them does not.

THE EXECUTION

Written, produced and directed all in-house via By All Means’ new production arm, BAMBOO, the interviews were shot and assembled (alongside reconstructions) and then played back to the subjects in a grand-scale LED array. Everything seen on the screens, and in that dome room, was captured in-camera. No CGI, no compositing, no AI and no rehearsals.

We were briefed on making some testimonials, but in the end, we knew that these stories needed something much more expansive. In the end, we took these stories as personally as Gordon Legal had done.
